Bishop Steve O. Campbell, Ph.D; D.Min

Senior Pastor/Founder of Word of Life Ministries International, Inc. (WOLMI)

Bishop Steve O. Campbell is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Kingston Technical High School, where he served as president of the student council, president of the debate society and the Head-Boy for the school.  He also served for two years as president of the school's Inter- School Christian Fellowship (I.S.C.F). 

His early ministry upbringing was under the Leadership of Bishop S.U. Thomas of Emanuel Apostolic Church Inc. where in 1970 at the age of seven, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ according to Acts 2:38.  At age fifteen, he was called to the ministry and began preaching the gospel. (Without a title)   His very first message was given at a young people's service one Friday night at the Stony Hill Emanuel Apostolic Church, pastored by Pastor Gifford S. Dixon.

In 1980, he was ordained to the ministry by Apostle Dr. Monroe Saunders, Sr. & Bishop Sydney A. Dunn. (First United Church of Jesus Christ), First an Evangelist, then a Minister, then an Elder.  Bishop Campbell studied theology at the Jamaican Theological Seminary and attended the University of the West Indies.

In 1984, Bishop Campbell immigrated to the United States and continued his education, which includes:  B.Sc. , M.Div., MBA, MPA, Ph.D. D.Min,.   from several Universities in the United States.

In addition to his spiritual education, Bishop Campbell has labored diligently in ministry for over 30 years.  His faithfulness as a Sunday School Teacher opened the door for him to become the Sunday School Superintendent, eventually becoming the National Sunday School Superintendent.  He served as National Youth Director, Church Board Member, Trustee Chairman, Music Director, Choir Master, Assistant to the Diocesan Bishop and Assistant Pastor.  From 1991-1994 under the leadership of Bishop Fred Rubin (Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ COOLJC) Bishop Campbell pastored the Refuge Pentecostal Temple Church, New Jersey.

In 1995, he founded and established the Word of Life Ministries International, Inc. (WOLM), a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry organization, located in Brick, New Jersey, which includes over thirty different ministry areas, and continues to maintain fellowship both nationally and internationally.  On March 15, 1998 he was consecrated to the office of Bishop by, Bishop Bani Brown, the Presiding Bishop of the Triumphant Church of Jesus Christ, Brooklyn, New York.  Further to that, on July 7, 2000 he was elected and consecrated as Eastern Diocesan Bishop of The Lords Churches Fellowship and Ministries Inc. by The 1^st Presiding Bishop, Bishop Grant B. Williams, PhD.  In Clinton Maryland, he also served as Bishop of Administration for a brief period. During this time he became a member of the fellowship's college of Bishops whose chief advisor was Bishop C.L. Morton, Jr. pastor of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, Oak Park, Michigan.

As Senior Pastor and President of the Word of Life Ministries International, Bishop Campbell is a visionary who seeks to develop believers to stand in their position for Christ.  He is committed to fulfilling the vision God has entrusted to his care and strongly believes in reaching the lost at any cost.  Bishop Campbell is truly an unselfish and humble servant of the Lord who believes in servanthood and the giving of brotherly love, one to another.  No amount of miles will stop him from traveling just to fellowship with the saints everywhere. He daily lives out his motto, "If I can help somebody, my living will not be in vain."  He is evangelical in faith, holiness in lifestyle, Pentecostal in experience and non-denominational in the kingdom.

Through his tireless efforts at the Word of Life Ministries International.(WOLM), Bishop's accomplishments include: countless number of lives changed for the better, bodies healed, burdens lifted, marriages restored, missions supported, hungry fed, families restored, depressed rejuvenated, runaways counseled and returned home, the sick visited, shut-ins visited, programs and visits to local nursing homes, provided transportation to the elderly for visits to doctors and shopping, clothes distributed to the needy, homeless sheltered and most importantly, the involvement of the youth in programs geared to their personal development and enrichment through guidance in building their self esteem, self confidence and self awareness throughout the communities of Brick, Lakewood, Neptune, Asbury Park, Point Pleasant, Lakehurst and other surrounding communities.

In 1999, Bishop Steve Campbell founded the Word of Life Community Development Corporation (WOLCDC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that will be focusing on the development of our community, which includes job creation, community programs and building projects.  The focus of the WOLCDC is on the need for better Education, Social Services, Affordable Housing, Youth Development, Arts and Culture and Economic Development. 

As part of the WOLCDC program, Bishop Campbell developed the "Youth Excelling in Society (Y.E.S.)", which its goal is to guide and teach youth the fundamentals that will aid them in a healthy lifestyle.  Y.E.S. programs include:  Youth Crime Prevention in Schools and the Community, Self Esteem/Confidence/Awareness, AIDs Awareness, Nutrition and Fitness, Drug Awareness, Counseling, Performing Arts, Preparing for College/Career, Mentoring Programs, Volunteer Programs, and Field Trips (museums, parks, zoo).

Bishop Campbell serves as a Notary Public in the State of New Jersey and as an Associate Member of the American Management Association Local Chapter and a member of the NAACP. He is authorized to use the designation, M.A.M.A.  He also is the author of the books, "Equip Yourself with the Word of Life", and "Daddy Can Make A Difference" the producer of the gospel play, "The Judgement Seat" (written and directed by his wife, Co-Pastor Zena M. Campbell).

Bishop Campbell is the recipient of several community service awards, commendations and proclamations from state and governmental officials such as, various Mayors, City Clerks, Governors, Secretary of States and even President William Jefferson Clinton.  He has served on several community committees and Boards. Currently, he is a member of The Council of Churches of The City of New York, a License Marriage Officiant, in the City Of New York and Saint Lucie County, Florida.  Recently he was featured in the who's who 2007-2008 and  2008-2009 and 2009-2010 journal.

In March 1996 Bishop Campbell signed on to Comcast cable with his first thirty minute program called "The Word of Life" and within the next six months another television program "Steve Campbell Today" was born.  What started out as a trial program blossomed into forty 30 minute programs each week throughout New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Florida, Delaware, Pennsylvania and sections of Connecticut?  In conjunction to his television programs, Bishop Campbell hosts the same programs on Sundays on WPDQ-FM 89.7.  He is a frequent guest on several other stations throughout New Jersey and New York.

Bishop Campbell has traveled worldwide to several countries which include Israel, The Holy Land in his mission of fulfilling the great commission.

 An Auditor by profession, Bishop Campbell was employed with New Jersey Transit Corporation from November 1989 through February 2000.

As a devoted husband and father, Bishop Campbell shares his vision with his wife, Pastor Zena Campbell, and their children; Sabrena, (Rutgers Alumni) Orville, (MSU Alumni) Salena, (DSU) and Zuriel.  His ministry is distinguished by a message of forgiveness, healing, restoration with strong emphasis on family and fatherhood.  He is highly noted as a husband, father, pastor, teacher, student, preacher, brother, administrator, businessman, entrepreneur, leader, visionary, motivator and Son of God.  We love to hear him say "Oh praise the Lord"

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS:  He is the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach, not given to wine, non striker, not greedy of filthy lucre but patient, not a brawler, not covetous, one that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity.

WHEREAS:  In April 1970 he was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ; was ordained to the ministry in 1980; and acknowledged the call to the ministry at the age of fifteen.

WHEREAS:  The year 2000 is the year in which he celebrates his tenth Pastoral Anniversary, his twenty-first year in ministry and his thirtieth year since accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

WHEREAS:  In October 1995 he founded and established the Word of Life Ministries, Inc. (WOLM) under the direction of the Lord, who instructed him to get into position.

WHEREAS:  Under his leadership and administration, the Word of Life Ministries, Inc.  Was incorporated and approved by the State of New Jersey and the federal government, as a Non-profit Tax Exempt Religious Organization.

WHEREAS:  Under his leadership, the body of Christ has established spiritual and financial growth, maturity and stability.

WHEREAS:  Under his leadership, the Word of Life Ministries, Inc. has developed fellowship with ministries locally, nationally and internationally.

WHEREAS:  He has studied to show himself approved unto God, has earned a Ph.D. in Religion, a Ph.D. in Religious Philosophy, an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

WHEREAS:  He is a Notary Public in the State of New Jersey and a Board Member of the American Management Association Local Chapter.

WHEREAS:  He is the author of the books: Equip Yourself with the Word of Life and Daddy Can Make a Diffeence. Also the producer of the gospel play, "The Judgment Seat."

WHEREAS:  His ministry has touched many lives, Ministers, Pastors, Bishops, and Saints throughout the body of Christ.

WHEREAS:   He established a food ministry, to feed the hungry and needy, and to assist the Women's Shelter in Asbury Park and members of the local and surrounding communities.

WHEREAS:  He is the covering Bishop of the Expressions of Love Ministry, an outreach ministry in Neptune, New Jersey, whereby its humanitarian efforts aid various communities throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties in New Jersey.

WHEREAS:  He is the covering Bishop of the Word of Life Ministries, Inc. Satellite Ministry in Atlanta, Georgia, whereby Pastor Randolph Andries is the Pastor.

WHEREAS:  He is a member of the New Jersey Ocean County National Association for the Advancement of Color People (NAACP).

WHEREAS:  In May 1999 he founded and established the Word of Life Community Development Corporation, Inc. (WOLCDC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit state certified Faith-Based Organization.

WHEREAS:  He is a Columnist for the WOLCDC Newsletter - "THE INFORMER" Of WOLCDC.

WHEREAS:  He is the founder of the "Youth Excelling in Society" (Y.E.S.) program where its goal is to guide and teach youth the fundamentals that will aid them in a healthy lifestyle.  Y.E.S. WHEREAS:  He is the founder of the "Community Leadership for Aspiring Youth" (CLAY) a program aimed to assist youth, particularly those who are low/moderate income, adjudicated delinquent and/or in high-risk of adjudication, with opportunities to render "retribution" to their community and to aim to provide the youth with the skills and tools essential for them to become productive citizens.

WHEREAS:  He is the Secretary of the Board for the Lord's Churches, Fellowship, and Ministries, International, Inc.

WHEREAS:  After examining his growth, dedication, self denial, willingness to be lead of the Holy Spirit, his sensitivity to the move of God for such a time as this, it is hereby the decision of the Executive Board of Trustees of The Lord's Churches, Fellowship, and Ministries International, Inc., the clergy in fellowship and the civic leader of the community of Brick, in the State of New Jersey, on the 17th day of June, in the year of our Lord 2000,  proclaim Bishop Steve O. Campbell, Ph.D. - Senior Pastor, Founder and President of the Word of Life Ministries, Inc. as Regional Bishop for the North East Region of The Lord's Churches, Fellowship, and Ministries International, Inc. to the Ecumenical Church, the body of Christ, and to all saints under his tutelage.  We commission him to perform all the functions of the Christian Ministry in accordance with the state, provincial and international laws.
